As a kid growing up on an Iowa farm, Kevin was interested in all types of machines, especially trucks, tractors, and diesel powered equipment. It was a natural fit to study Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University. Upon graduation, Kevin joined the Omaha Public Power District as a Production Operations Engineer. During his 9 years at OPPD, he held engineering and supervisory roles focused on power plant equipment reliability and performance. His last role at OPPD was in the Nuclear Systems Engineering Group where his focus was the Emergency Power System (Diesel Generators).
In 2011, following a move to the Kansas City metro area, Kevin joined Kiewit Engineering and Design as a Design Engineer with a primary focus on power plant design. He spent 5 years at Kiewit before leaving his final role as the Mechanical Engineering Department Manager to start his own business in 2017. In 2018, clutcher.com was launched.
Kevin’s activities outside of clutcher.com include an earnest attempt to understand the “off-sides” rule in youth soccer, driving grain trucks at harvest time, and Sunday morning fishing with the family.
In addition to being an entrepreneur with a passion for cars, Kevin is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer, and maintains his original license in the state of Nebraska.
